The short version

We run BestAIFor.com — an AI tool directory and review site. This page explains what personal data we collect when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We try to collect as little as possible. We don't sell your data. We use a handful of well-known services (analytics, email, social pixels) to operate the site and improve it, and we tell you exactly which ones below.

If you'd rather skip the detail and just control what we track, most of it is handled through our cookie banner the first time you visit. You can change your mind at any time.

We act as the data controller for personal data collected through bestaifor.com. That means we decide what gets collected and why, and we're responsible for keeping it safe.

We haven't appointed a Data Protection Officer because we're not legally required to — but you can reach us directly at the email above for any privacy matter.

2. What data we collect, and why

We only collect data when there's a clear reason. Here's the full list.

2.1 When you just visit the site

When you land on BestAIFor.com, we (or our analytics and advertising partners) automatically collect:

• Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, approximate location (country/city level).
• Usage data — pages visited, time on page, clicks, scroll depth.
• Cookie identifiers — see our Cookie Policy below.

Why: to operate the site, understand what content works, and keep things secure. For non-essential tracking (analytics, social pixels, advertising), we rely on your consent via the cookie banner. For strictly necessary cookies, we rely on our legitimate interest in running the site.

2.2 When you create an account

If you register for an account on BestAIFor.com (to save tools, leave reviews, comment, etc.), we collect:

• Email address (required)
• Username or display name
• Password (stored hashed — we never see the plain text)
• Profile details you choose to add

Why: to give you an account, authenticate you, and let you use account features. Legal basis: performance of the contract between you and us (our Terms of Service).

2.3 When you sign up for our newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect:

• Email address
• First name (optional)
• Subscription preferences and engagement data (opens, clicks)

Our newsletter is sent through SendGrid (Twilio Inc., United States) and managed in GoHighLevel. Both receive your email and engagement data as our processors.

Why: to send you the emails you asked for. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email or emailing info@bestaifor.com.

3. What we don't collect

Just to be clear about what we don't do:

• We don't collect special category data (health, religion, political views, etc.) — and we ask you not to post it in reviews either.
• We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16. BestAIFor.com is intended for users 18 and older. If you believe a child has provided us with data, email info@bestaifor.com and we'll delete it.
• We don't take payments directly — so we never see your credit card details.
• We don't sell your personal data to anyone.
